Dear 3G,
If you have not heard about a historic moment yesterday when Barack Obama became the first black American President....where have you been?!!
If you don't even know who is Obama....which planet are you from?!!
Ok, you may ask...what does US or Obama have to do with me...how does it affect my life...I can't be bothered about Singapore politics....why should I care about what happens in the world.
Yes, well it DOES affect you because ultimately, it will affect the US economy and it will then affect the world economy and which will affect Singapore's economy. Some of you may have already felt it...your parents or relatives may be facing the possibility of losing their jobs if the economy gets worse. You may personally find it more difficult to find jobs during the vacation because many of the retrenched workers have taken on these jobs instead.
(Goodness Mrs Ravi...can you stop already and get to the point.)
The POINT is...you need to be aware of what is happening around you so that you are not caught unprepared for difficulties. So how to be aware...
Read, Watch, Listen to the news and feed your brains. The minute you stop being aware of what is happening, the less chances you have to be better in everything you do.
Today's lesson is:
Keep sharpening those minds...Read, Watch and Listen the news around you...Mrs R

Etymology (Which means what is the historical origins of the word?)
The term has been used in English since 1727, borrowed from glyphe in use by the French (since 1701), from Greek γλυφη "a carving," from γλύφειν "to hollow out, engrave, carve".
Dear 3Gs...I sincerely hope each and every one of you will try to work towards making your own engraving in life...and with each small mark you can make a difference towards your desired image...if you want to make a mark quickly, you will need a stronger, sharper tool...it will take a longer time to engrave your mark if you don't sharpen your tools...
